So Did Scott Brown Kill Obama-Care?

The lamestream media probably never thought this would ever happen.   Republican Scott Brown winning Ted Kennedy's seat (Like it belonged to him and the Democrat party).   In spite of a really lame and creepy candidate,  the Democrats thought this one wasn't going to be a problem.    After all its Massachusetts,  all the conservatives left a long time ago, right?

They had no idea they had a big problem in Massachusetts.  And not just because some guy drives a pickup.   If things don't change for Democrats and Obama,  they are going to be in a world of hurt.  2010 can be very big for Republicans.   So will the Obama regime learn from the many mistakes of its first year and the early Clinton years?  Hard to tell yet.

A early guess at what the response will be:  Obama-Care.   Are they going to try to rush this in,  as they likely try to hold up seating Brown?  Or is it as dead as Hillary-Care?    I guess it will be how much Obama wants a second term.    Until now,  it looked like Obama-Care was happening no matter how unpopular it is.   Scott Brown has changed that from being a certainty.   Thank God.

The next couple weeks could be a nail biter.   Obama-Care isn't quite dead yet but its on life support.   Hopefully,  Obama-Care will be hitting the dustpan of history.  Soon!

Will this blog be unneeded soon,  I doubt that,  but hopefully the danger has passed for a while.

America's Health "Care" Nightmare Beginning

Unfortunately Christmas Eve will been known for more then being the day before Christmas from now on.   It will be known as the day that the Senate ruined the American health care industry.   One eighth of the total economy of the U.S. will be nationalized by 60 people,  who think they know better then all of us.

And for what.  Power!

Power over us,  the dimwits that elected them.

Government has been taking more and more of our Freedoms from us over the last century.   A new rule here,  a law there,  a "temporary" tax that is now decades old.    The nanny state is alive and all too well.    President Reagan may have slowed it down a little in the 1980's but he wasn't able to stop it.   He is the only president that really tried to stop it.

Its a threat from within that threatens our national well being.   Are we so dumb that we need our government to make all of our choices for us.

Keep in mind this is the same government that has a hard time misdirecting our mail.   This is the government that "runs" the worst passenger train "service" in the developed world and loses billions of our tax dollars in the process.    This is the same government that has made it so many on welfare think they will never do better and never get to move on with their lives,   and ruins the lives of their children to boot.   This is the same government that runs Planned Parenthood,   turning children away from the beliefs of their parents and society as a whole,  creating the abortion industry.    This is the same government that cannot stop spending our retirement money now so that there won't be enough money for all that have been promised something for old age.

This is the same government that will some day tell me that I cannot drink a soda pop,  eat a french fry,  smoke a cigarette or ride a motorcycle without a helmet.    Or to read the Bible in the public square.

Do I need to go on?

This is a cancer on our society.   A cancer that has to be cured.  Or the U.S. is doomed to failure.

Its more then the second or third class medical care that results from nationalized healthcare.   There are so many nations to look at in the world to show what it  is like.   The whole world will suffer because we stopped caring and got lazy.

A line in the sand must be drawn.    One where we tell our elected jokers that we don't want what they are serving.

Once nationalized healthcare is here,  it will be very difficult to end.

Will Senator Nelson Do the Right Thing and End the Obamacare Nightmare Bill in the Senate?

Looks like the only thing keeping Obamacare from passing the Senate is one Democrat.   Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska.   One of the few remaining Pro-life Democrats,  the pressure must be intense from the liberals hellbent on passing this junker before Christmas.  (some Christmas present,,,,,,).    Hope the wrath of the voters back home will help him make the right decision and take a pass on Obamacare.    But you never know in Washington.

Senator Lieberman's has folded his opposition to Obamacare in spite of the hate cast on him from other liberals like the joker from Minnesota.   Had I been treated like that,  I think I would think twice about going along with this.

Hard to believe we have gotten this close to Nationalized Medicine.   As a nation we are going to have some really hard times coming if this liberal nonsense moves forward.

UPDATE:  12/20 Nelson bailed.  Nelson turns his back on his state and the his pro-life stand.  Obama's Chicago style politicking at its worst.  I guess if the pro-life movement was that important to you,  you wouldn't be a Democrat.   Hopefully voters won't forget next time.

It's the DEMOCRATS that are on the Wrong Side of History Harry Reid Not the Republicans, Both Now and Then!

The saying is "if one doesn't know their history they are bound to repeat it".     Harry Reid doesn't seem to know basic history.

Not only is he dead wrong,  its really, really  offensive.

I rarely call anything offensive when mouthed by a uninformed politician, but he should know this little  bit of American history.

Reid Compares Opponents of Health Care Reform to Supporters of Slavery.

He believes that Republicans would be on the wrong side of history by opposing the Democrats junker of a bill to "reform" healthcare.     He is wrong on that point to begin with,  but the example he uses is wrong in every way.

For it is the DEMOCRATS that are on the wrong side of history when it comes to slavery in the U.S.

For it is DEMOCRATS that opposed ending slavery.

For it is DEMOCRATS that opposed civil rights for more then a CENTURY after the civil war ended.

For it is the DEMOCRATS the invented  JIM CROW LAWS.

For it is DEMOCRAT elected officials in the south that opposed ending the Jim Crow laws in the 1960's.

Up to the 1960's NO Democrat was for any civil rights for any one who wasn't white.

So who is on the right side of history?

Not the Democrats.   Not then and not now!

Going After The Kids: It Can't Be More Creepy

Since Obama's brand of healthcare "reform"  isn't too popular with anyone voting age,  they are going after the kiddies.     So in all the chaos of the first day of school, many students will have to watch a speech from the chosen one.      How creepy is that?   As a person interested in history it gives me the creeps.

Image the outrage that would have resulted had President Bush decided to do so!

But since its Obama,  many schools will require the kids to watch.    Many parents have decided to keep their children home that day.

Using people's kids against their own parents  is a common tactic by totalitarian countries.    Having to defend your beliefs vs. the ones pushed by liberals in OUR public schools shouldn't be.

Parents rights will be severely eroded during the Obama years,  with a judge ordering a home-schooled child into public school a few days ago.   Government has no right to co-op parents will.   There is no partnership between government and parents when it comes to children,  Obama has no right to push his agenda during the school day.  There is so much to be done the  first day of school,  having to watch Obama,  was an inconsiderate thing for him to have done as well.

Medical Tourism: The Wave of the Future Due to Obamacare?

Its no secret that many Canadian's have to come to the U.S. for medical services.   Sometimes even for pretty basic procedures like MRI's.   They pay cash for the most part.   It's likely most can ill afford the financial costs of care they should be getting back home in Canada for "free".   But they have no choice if they want to get better.

Nationalized socialized medical care is rationed,  no matter how often Obama  and the Obamabots denies that it does.    Every country with it rations, there are no places that isn't true, nowhere!  Canada,  England, Cuba, France,  they all do.

Here a article about a U.S. citizen who travels to India for affordable healthcare.   People who favor socialized medicine point to high costs as a way of denial of healthcare in a free market healthcare system.   Its a powerful way of fooling people into thinking a single payer system is better.   However this scare tactic doesn't tell the truth.

But what would you prefer?    Choice number one: Being bankrupt and well or at least recovering.   Choice number two:   dead because rationing denied you care,  or suffering because you are waiting for care, hoping you make it.

I think most would prefer being broke and well over being dead of something that you could have survived.    There are just as many stories of people who live with curable things and deaths that could have been easily prevented with a free market healthcare system but is common with socialized "care" vs broke, bankrupt people that are cured in the U.S.

The people in the article travel to an Indian hospital for care they cannot afford or wish to pay at the prices in the U.S.    Will we be traveling to India and other places in the future because there will be things that we won't be getting in a nationalized U.S. healthcare system at any price?

You can count on it!

It will be a common thing if the U.S. is stupid enough to pass socialized medicine.

However no one notes that few in the U.S. shop around for cheaper care WITHIN the U.S.

Nobody with insurance does,  they hand their card over to a doctor that charges  $120 for an office visit when you could go to the doctor down the hall that charges $85 for the same visit.

We already don't have a free market in the healthcare system.   Insurance discourages shopping around.    There is nothing in it for the patient.   It doesn't matter if you save your insurance company a few bucks.

Granted,  the folks in the article likely wouldn't have found the care for the price in the U.S.  they found in India.   There is nowhere in the U.S. that is an oasis of more affordable care, at least in the saving one can find in other countries nowadays.    But reform needs to focus on removing the barriers to affordable healthcare without resorting to rationing.    Or cutting or capping the money doctors can earn.

I think its possible.

People have no idea how the free enterprise system could fix most, if not all the major problem we have in healthcare today.     It will take more on the part of consumers of care,  but they can also get the benefits of a true free market system.      We would have to shop around like we do with everything else.    We shop around more for cars,  food,  homes,  everything but healthcare!

Some of the barriers to affordability are government regulations and mandates.  One should be free to buy any insurance coverage from anywhere to fit their needs.   We cannot today.   We are forced to buy coverage for things we don't want, need or even support, no bare bones coverage allowed.    So its more expensive for no reason.    So the mandates have to go.

Employer provided insurance is a result of government regulations of the past.    Wages were fixed by the federal government during WWII,  so in order to obtain better employees the loophole was the ability to provide health insurance.   However that has lead to the problem of no insurance when you leave a job,  plus its an expense you probably can't afford when not working.

One cannot get the same insurance on your own for the same price as the your employer can.   Why,   the tax code prevents that.    That nasty little tax bite needs to go too.

I can go on and on.   Hopefully you are getting where I am going with these points.

Its the government that is causing the problems we have today!

So how are they going to solve it by taking over more of it?

The answer is that it CANNOT!   Even if it was full of people who would care that it would.

The only way to reform the healthcare system is to remove the federal government from it.

We have the best healthcare on the planet.   It is far better with all of its problems then any nationalized system.   PERIOD!    Don't allow Washington ruin it because far more then Americans depend on it for healthcare.

No one is denied care in the U.S. today.   You may be bankrupt,  but you have a chance at living.   A chance that social medicine doesn't allow.

We need reform but Obamacare isn't reform.   Its the same old thing that fails time in and again.

They Are Going To Name It For Him Aren't They?

I don't know whether or not Ted Kennedy death will help or hurt Obama's and the Democrats chances on their "healthcare" bill this year.      Along with the ailing  and mostly absent Senator Byrd the Democrats don't have the 60 votes to ram "healthcare reform"  down our necks.

Will they have to bring in Byrd  on a stretcher to vote for this bill?  Would be dramatic  (at least for the Democrats).   And to name it for the recently deceased!   I can't think of a reason why they wouldn't name this clunker for him.

They could really use this to put the final push on this bill.   Don't think for a second they won't.    They will walk all over Teddy's grave if they think it would help.

However I am still hoping Kennedy passing will help save the U.S. from the disaster of nationalized and socialized medicine (at least this year).    The hardest thing  will be to keep it from happening next year once Massachusetts will send another liberal to the Senate.    Hopefully Senators that know that their careers will be shorter then Kennedy's if they vote for this turkey will end this once and for all.

Wouldn't the irony  be delicious if these Democrats do the right thing for the wrong reason?    I think preserving  themselves will counter whatever Obama could do to them.   I can't see many wanting to be run over by Obama's bus.

I guess thats why politics are so interesting at times.

After all the bad legislation Kennedy got passed in the Senate over his all too long career,  wouldn't it be ironic if his passing helps end one of the biggest mistakes this country is trying to make?

Is AARP Really Watching Out For Seniors On Healthcare?

Socialized medicine is particular bad for senior citizens.  They are the most likely to be denied care,  partly because they generally need more and that they are old.

Sure wouldn't know that from the ads running from  AARP.    You have probably seen the ad with the ambulance driving busy city streets being blocked by other drivers.   You would think the White House wrote this ad.  It is  blaming folks who are merely needing a little more information and time to digest this proposal.

Of course the White House and the Democrats want to do this fast.   The more people know about this bill,  the less they like it.    Especially seniors,  who will be the victims of yet another country with rationing.

Don't forget folks,  we all get old someday.

Politicians would be stupid to forget that seniors vote in higher numbers then any other groups.   AARP better not forget either,  otherwise they could be representing nobody.

They claim they haven't signed on on socialized medicine,  the ad on TV says otherwise.

Unfortunately The Market Won't Be Allowed To Solve The Problems of Healthcare

Even though most Americans and most economists don't think the government is the solution for healthcare,  it will likely happen because liberal politicians want it.   Here is a piece showing how the market could solve some of the problems.  Fixing the Health-Care System Requires Market Changes, Not a Government Takeover, Major Economists Say.

So How Do They Pay For It?

So how do other countries pay for their socalized medicine?   Here's one way the French do Paying for Le Treatment.   Guess what? Medicine consumers in the U.S. are one of the ways they pass it on,  its not paid for in France.

American's Against Government Medicine

Most Americans think that medicine is in need of some reform.    Though we have the best medical care on the face of the planet,  there are some major problems.

Most of the problems actually aren't the quality of the care.  Or how its delivered or the amount of care or the hospitals.  Or the advances that only could be created by the free enterprise system.   Nobody is denied care in the U.S.

Its how its paid for and how expensive it is.   You can get care but it may end up with yourself in bankruptcy court.

A good portion of the world has socialized its medical care.   Never the less,  the care leaves a lot to be desired.    Many Canadians come to the U.S. and pay cash for care they could get in Canada for "free".    The problem with socialized medicine is the same as anything else provided by the government,   it sucks!

The biggest problem with socialized medicine is that rationing is required.   Otherwise the costs are enormous.   Even rationing doesn't make it costs go down.   Governments around the world are incapable of saving a buck in a worthwhile manner.  It just cannot happen.   B.O. is lying when he says the government could save money.   It isn't possible!

The solution to this problem is simpler then you may think.   Government is the problem in medicine,  not the solution.   The federal government should be getting out of medicine business,  not getting more involved in it.

This blog will highlight why real reform could never happen in the form put forth by Obama and the Democrats in Congress.  This is not reform by any means.    I will put forth ideas that could solve the problems of American medicine,  there are many that could work,  but you will not hear about them from the "mainstream" media.
